Mary Dykes 1930-2012

LORDSTOWN - Mary Dykes, 82, passed away on Thursday morning, Sept., 20, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.

She was born in Clarksburg, W.Va., on Feb. 5, 1930, the daughter of Otto L. and Nellie P. Morrison Weekley.

She was a graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School and worked as an assembler for General Motors in Lordstown. After 22 years with the company, Mary retired in 1998.

She enjoyed life following her retirement, including playing bingo and enjoying card games with family and friends. She liked to travel, including vacations to Las Vegas to play the slot machines. She enjoyed the simple pleasures like tending to her flowers, reading books and doing crossword puzzles.

Above all she loved her family and the time she shared with them.

She will be sadly missed by her two children, Lisa (William) Hoodin and Delmar Jack (Patricia) Lough. She also leaves behind four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her nephew, Gary L. (Susan) Booth; her niece, Nancy L. (Mark) Hale, and her six grand- nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dorothy L. Booth and a grandnephew.

Friends may visit from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Lane Family Funeral Homes Roberts-Clark Chapel, where a memorial service will follow at 6 p.m.
