CORTLAND - Ona G. Rewt, 88, entered into rest at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Ona was born the daughter of the late John F. and Anna (Samoles) Smith on Dec. 23, 1923, in Scranton. Pa., and had resided in Cortland for the past three years.
She was a graduate of Scranton High School, a homemaker and had attended St. James Catholic Church.

On July 22, 1944, Ona was united into marriage with Albert Rewt and had shared 61 years together, until his passing April 13, 2005.
Her memories will be remembered and celebrated by those she leaves behind, her son, Daniel W. Rewt and spouse of Cortland; grandchildren, Nikole and Sheila Molinari; and a niece, Ann Ritucci.
Private family services will be held.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury, Conn.
