MINERAL RIDGE - James Lawrence Willis Sr., 74, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at his home.
James was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Youngstown, the son of George and Anna Lee Wise Willis.
He served in the U.S. Army and had worked for General Motors.

Jimmy was a member of the St. Andrewes AME Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalind A. Trammell Willis; three sons, James Willis Jr. of Cleveland, Maurice Willis of Mineral Ridge and Aaron Burks of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Tracey Willis Dawson; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, the Rev. George Willis; and one sister, Betty Willis Wallace.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father; stepmother, Emma Willis; mother; a sister; and two brothers.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Andrewes AME Church. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Andrewes AME Church, Youngstown.
