POLAND - Anthony D. Cannella Sr., 59, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 16, 2012.
Anthony was born March 1, 1953, in Youngstown, the son of the late Anthony G. and Irma Rose Rouzzo Cannella.
He was a 1971 graduate of Lowellville High School, where he played football and was all-state for the basketball team. He also attended Youngstown State University.
Anthony enjoyed golfing, classic cars and his two sheepdogs, and was a coach and past president and vice president of the Boardman Youth Baseball League.
He was a manager at Thomas Strip Steel in Warren and most recently a manager at Worthington Steel in Cleveland.
The family says he was loved by everyone he met. He loved his family, especially his boys.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Carol Snitzer, whom he married Aug. 23, 1975; two sons, Anthony D. Jr. and Jonathan D. Cannella; mother-in-law, Agnes Snitzer; three brothers-in-law, Joseph (Laura) Snitzer, Dr. Robert (Julie) Snitzer and Dr. Michael (Shelley) Snitzer; a sister-in-law, Ann Marie Snitzer; five nieces; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joseph P. Cannella; and his nephew and godson, Joey Snitzer.
The Cannella family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home, where they will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Prayer services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Church in Campbell.
