Richard Moore 1932-2012

CORTLAND - Richard "Dick" Moore, 79, entered into rest at 4:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at his residence following a short illness.

He was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Champion, the son of the late Paul and Ethel Thrasher Moore, and was a lifelong area resident.

Dick was employed with the Packard Electric Corp. as a pellitizer for 38 years, retiring from his duties in 1991.

After graduating from Champion High School, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Dick loved camping, fishing, hunting and traveling, but most of all Dick enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

On April 9, 1955, Dick was united in marriage with the former Lois A. Krisher and they had shared 57 years together.

His memory will be remembered and cherished by those he leaves behind, including his loving wife, Lois A. Moore; two daughters, Dianne L.(Kevin) Arnold and Janet L. (Bob) Young, both of Columbus; and four grandchildren, Nate, Nicole, Elena and Brian. Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley (Bud) Ray of Rock Creek and Patricia (Don) Bonser of Montrose, Colo.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Oscar Faurot.

Private family services are to be held and there will be no visitation.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their care and support and in lieu of flowers, material tributes may be made in Dick's name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
