KINSMAN - James L. Sheets, 65, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at the Louis Stokes VA hospital in Cleveland.
He was born Dec. 7, 1946, in Van Wert, the son of Juno Beth Smith and Donald Leroy Sheets.
Mr. Sheets was a 1964 graduate of Andover High School and attended Kent State University.

He owned and operated Thunderbolt Aviation, where he restored airplanes and muscle cars. He was a member of the Harry Lees American Legion Post No. 506 of Kinsman. Mr. Sheets enjoyed flying small aircraft and working on classic and muscle cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Sheets.
Survivors include two sons, James J. Sheets of Fairmont, W.Va., and Jeffrey M. (Sherry) Sheets of Kinsman; three brothers, Bruce (Louise) Sheets of Queens, N.Y., Richard (Sharon) Sheets of Carrollton and Raymond Sheets of Ravenna; and four grandchildren, Wyatt, Heidi, Magnus and Alexander.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Services, 134 Prospect St., Andover. Calling hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover.
