Leona E. Cvengros 1922-2012

NILES - Leona E. Cvengros, 90, passed away at 2:07 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at the residence of her son.

Mrs. Cvengros was born Aug. 28, 1922, in Duluth, Minn., the daughter of John and Mary Tekovek Klobucar, moving to this area as a child. She was a member of St. Stephen Church, and in earlier years was a seamstress to the nuns.

She had been employed by the former Packard Electric and the Niles Container, now known as Cleveland Steel Container. She danced weekly at Kuzman's, enjoyed shopping, gardening, sewing and treasured her time with her family.

Her husband, Lewis H. Cvengros, whom she married May 11, 1946, preceded her in death on June 1, 1965.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Cvengros (Nick) Pregibon of Niles; two sons, James E. (Patty) and Steve L. (Dee), all of Niles, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Mary Young and Angela French, and three brothers, Edward, John and Joe Zobitz.

Private memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home, with the Rev. Thomas Krasiewski officiating.

Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.

Arrangements and care has been entrusted to the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home.
