James J. Adams 1940-2012

WARREN - James J. "Big Red" Adams, 72, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012.

He was born April 30, 1940, in Sharpsburg, Pa., the son of the late James W. Adams and the late Sophie Bronowicz.

He married Elizabeth Armintrout on Nov. 23, 1962.

He attended Warren G. Harding High School and was employed as a hooker at Republic Steel. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves / National Guard. He enjoyed building model ships and trains. He also enjoyed playing spoons and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth J. Adams of Warren; sons, Mark Tilton of Leavittsburg and James A. Adams of Warren; daughters, Karen (Mike) Petro of Champion, Anna (John) Daniel of Warren, Amy (Paul) Fry of Warren, Christine Mosley of Warren and Judith Adams of Warren; 25 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Adams of Struthers; and sisters, Kathleen Hunter of Struthers and Patricia (Forrest) Glaser of Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Rev. Myron Daum will officiate.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
