NILES - Roger G. Ferko, 71, died at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at The Cleveland Clinic.
He was born Oct. 20, 1940, in Warren, the son of George and Mary Bretzik Ferko.
He was a 1958 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and employed as a chemical lab analyst at WCI Steel for 41 years, retiring in 2000.

Roger was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, enjoyed playing pool, golfing, bowling, horse racing, an avid sports fan, and a United States Army National Guard veteran, having served six years as a military policeman.
Roger, who was a loving fiance, father and grandfather, and known for his laugh, will be deeply missed by his fiancee' Danette Manusakis of Niles; two sons, Rick M. (Christine) Ferko of Columbus and Roger J. (Mary) Ferko of Brooklyn, Mich.; a daughter Lauren Manusakis of Niles; a sister Carol (Nick) Zordich of Niles; five grandchildren, Jason Lefebvre, Christopher Lefebvre, Elaina Ferko, Justine Ferko and Kyle Ferko.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles with the Rev. John-Michael Lavelle officiating, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
