NILES - Mafalda Costarella, 96, formerly of Girard, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, in Hospice House.
She was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Reggio, Italy, the daughter of Joseph and Carmela Mazza Foti.
Mafalda belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ in Austintown.

Survivors include a son, Joseph R. Costarella of Girard; a daughter, Mary Carmel Minniti of Belle Vernon, Pa.; a brother, Joseph Foti of Italy; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Costarella.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Blackstone Funeral Home and an hour prior to services at the church.
