BRACEVILLE - Gwendolyn Fay Eakins, 85, passed away peacefully into eternal life on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
She was born on July 8, 1927, in Willoughby, the daughter of the late John Stone and Kathryn Reid Stone.
Gwendolyn married the love of her life, Robert T. Eakins Sr., on Feb. 14, 1947, and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage together before he passed away on June 8, 2006.

She had lived in Braceville most of her life, working at Republic Steel in the cafeteria and then working at Denman Tire as a builder.
Gwendolyn enjoyed being a homemaker. She also enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.
Memories of Gwendolyn will be carried on by her loving family, her daughter Kathy (Lester) Lampman of Leavittsburg; her sons, Robert Eakins Jr. of Leavittsburg, Gary Eakins of Braceville and Richard (Renee) Eakins of Warren; her sister, Pat (Dick) Paezewski of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; her brother, Ronald Doolittle of Newton Falls; five grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a daughter, Barbara Eakins; and three sons, Jeffrey, Dennis and John Eakins.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Calling hours will be two hours prior to service time from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Gwendolyn will be laid to rest next to her husband at Braceville Cemetery.
