NILES - Evelyn M. Sigworth, 87, passed away peacefully at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at the Clare Bridge of Austintown.
She was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Armstrong County, Pa., the daughter of David and Tillie Crissman, and came to Niles in 1966.
Evelyn was employed many years ago at the Rola Speaker factory and the Char-Val Candy Factory, both in Pennsylvania. She was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed hunting and her vegetable and flower gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Lowell T. Sigworth Jr. of Minnetonka, Minn., and Kenneth (Cindy) Sigworth of The Villages, Fla.; a granddaughter, Raye Ann Ohl, and her fiance, Robert; a grandson, Russell (Kelly) Sigworth; and three great-grandsons, Eric Ohl, Logan and Landon Sigworth.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell T. Sigworth Sr., whom she married Feb. 7, 1942, and who died June 5, 2008; and a sister, Dollie Gruver.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn, Pa., where friends may call from 1 p.m. until the service.
Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Mahoning Township, Armstrong County, Pa.
