FARMDALE - Walter M. "Toby" Dawson Sr., 74, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at his residence.
He was born May 6, 1938, in Glencoe, the son of the late Jasper N. Dawson and the late Anna L. Ponsetti Dawson.
Toby was a graduate of Bellaire High School in Bellaire and had worked at Packard Electric in Warren for 36 years before retiring in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce J. Rine Dawson, whom he married July 25, 1959; four sons, Walter (Dina) Dawson Jr., Jeffrey Dawson, Michael (Susan) Dawson and Leonard (Tracey) Dawson, all of Farmdale; and two sisters, Donna (Albert) Morris of Neffs and Wilma (Mack) Hudson of Villarica, Ga.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Brad, Beth, Bryan, Sara, Jessica, Joshua, Mikki, Brooke and Zachary Dawson and Michael, Eric and Nathan Knapp; and six great-grandchildren, Emily, Katlyn, Lillyanna, Nicholas, Bella and Tucker.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamara Kinkelaar.
Per Walter's wishes, there will be no services.
Donations may be made in his memory to either the Hope Center for Cancer Care, 1745 Niles Cortland Road, Warren, OH 44484, or to MVI Hospice Care, 4891 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH 44505.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland.
