NORTH BLOOMFIELD - Sophie Bland, 95, of North Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Sophie was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Cleveland, the daughter of Alexander and Anastasia Romanovich Tcharkovska Teresko.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church.

Sophie loved and raised many flowers. She was a nationally accredited Master Flower Show Judge, a member of the Garden Club of Ohio, a member of the Youngstown Garden Club, a past vice-president of the Trumbull County Garden Forum for many years and a member of the Friendly Garden Club.
Sophie's husband, John Morris Bland, whom she married in 1944, passed away in 1992.
Sophie leaves her loving family, son, John T. Bland of North Bloomfield; two brothers, John Teresko of Greene Township and William Teresko of Hinckley; and a sister, Rose Kazik of Garfield Heights.
In addition to her parents, Sophie was preceded in death by three brothers, Alexander Teresko, who was killed in World War II, Steve Teresko and Simon Teresko.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home with a Panachida Service at 7:30 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St John the Baptist Orthodox Church, preceded by a one-hour calling hour at the church.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greene Township.
