YOUNGSTOWN - Local police will conduct an OVI checkpoint tonight on South Avenue, State Highway Patrol troopers announced.
The checkpoint will be held from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. tonight just north of Indianola Road in Mahoning County. It is being conducted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Mahoning County Sheriffs Office and Youngstown Police Department in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols in an attempt to combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes, the patrol announced in a press release.
