NEWTON FALLS - Ruth Evelyn Conti Nemet, 87, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at the Allan Dell Assisted Living facility.
Ruth was born March 18, 1925, in Lowellville, the daughter of Frank and Viola Conti.
After graduating from Lowellville High School, Ruth attended nurse training at Youngstown Northside Hospital, where she became a registered nurse.

Together again
On Oct. 16, 1948, Ruth married the love of her life, Michael Joseph Nemet, in Big Springs, Texas. They returned to Newton Falls to make their home and begin a family.
Ruth ended her nursing career, retiring from Robinson Memorial Hospital in 1988. She had many interests and was active in several organizations. Ruth loved taking pictures and put her talent to good use; she was the publicity chairperson for both the St. Joseph's Ladies Guild and the Newton Falls Hobby Hunters. Among her interests, Ruth loved going to the theater and traveling. She was a member of the CFU Lodge 634, where she and her husband were both musicians for the OD SRCA Tamburitzans Croation Orchestra. They played for many events in the Youngstown area, as well as in Canada and Crotia. Ruth was a longtime member of St. Mary and Joseph Church in Newton Falls.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Michelle Bailey of Newton Falls; three sons, Michael (Margo) Nemet, Jeffrey Nemet and John (Debora) Nemet, all of Newton Falls; a sister, Hazel (Bill) Nock of Lowellville; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; a daughter, Deborah Stull; two sisters, Julia Bartholomew and Lucille Rivalsky; and a brother, Frank Conti.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at James Funeral Home. The St. Joseph's Ladies Guild will conduct a 6:30 p.m. rosary. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at James Funeral Home, and the funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary and Joseph Church.
Ruth will be laid to rest next to her husband, Michael, at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
