HOUSTON - Effar Butler III, 56, formerly of Warren, died at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at his home following a short illness.
He was born June 24, 1956, in Opelika, Ala., the son of Effar II and Mary Nell Haynes Butler.
Effar was the owner of Butler Trucking in Houston.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Houston; daughters, Tiffany Morris, Tamula Butler and Takia Butler, all of Warren; a son, Effar IV of Warren; a sister, Patricia ''Ann'' Johnson and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
There will be private memorial, and the family will receive friends and family today at the home of his daughter, Tiffany, 2828 Palmyra Road.
Walker Funeral Home in Crosby, Texas, handled the cremation.
