FOWLER - David G. Babcock, 85, of Fowler, died on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 12, 1926, in Warren, a son of the late Thad Babcock and the late Margarett Duncan Babcock.
David was a veteran of the United States Army Calvary, having served in the Philippines during World War II. During his time of service, he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 2, 1946.

He was employed as a wire drawer at Packard Electric for 38 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a skilled leather worker and enjoyed fishing and pontooning. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
His wife, Evelyn Feidler Babcock, whom he married on Dec. 25, 1950, preceded him in death on June 1, 2000.
He is survived by three daughters, Sally (Don) Sutton of Fowler, Cindy (Ted) Pawcio of Tennessee and Patti (Bob) Fortney of Southington; five sons, Grayling (Teresa) Babcock of Southington, David (Lori) Babcock of Fowler, Adam (Andrea) Babcock of Fowler, Eric (Chris) Babcock of Mineral Ridge and Aaron Babcock of Hartford; 13 grandchildren, Avery and Dawn Sutton, David Babcock, Sarah Demron, Zachary and Bryan Fortney, Stephanie Getz, Derek Babcock, Jessica, Erik and Ben Miracle and Hannah and Madison Blanchard; and seven great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by a brother, John Babcock, and a sister, Adelia Poling.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dugan Cemetery in Fowler, where the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard will lead services.
