Richard J. Timko 1933-2012

LORDSTOWN - Richard J. Timko, 79, of Lordstown, passed away on Saturday morning, Aug. 18, 2012, at Hospice House in Poland, with his loving family - son Kenneth and daughter Elizabeth - by his side.

Richard was born on June 24, 1933, in Indiana, Pa., the son of the late William and Susan Timko.

Mr. Timko married Magdaline Yanoscsik on Aug. 27, 1955. She passed away on Dec. 7, 2007, after 52 years of marriage.

Richard was a tow motor driver for Lordstown GM Fab Plant, where he worked for more than 30 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is a member of St. James Catholic Church in North Jackson and the United Auto Workers Local.

He would deeply miss son Kenn's dog, Louigi, who brought great joy to him. He loved feeding and watching wild birds and deer in his yard. Also, he was a huge fan of Eddie Blazonczyk's Versatones polka band and George Jones.

Memories of Richard will be carried on by his daughter, Elizabeth Timko of Lordstown; a son, Kenneth (Lori Ratell-Timko) Timko of Lordstown; two sisters, Katherine Lydick of Natrona Heights, Pa., and Marian (Vern) Styers of Bristolville; and two brothers, Tom (Cathy) Timko of Coral, Pa., and Bill (Janet) Timko of Clawson, Mich.

Mr. Timko was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother, Jim Timko.

Calling hours will be from to 6 to 8 p.m. today at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake at St. James in North Jackson, with the Rev. David Merzweiler.

Burial will be in the Lordstown Cemetery.
