VIENNA - Faye L. Buday, 86, of Vienna, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, Aug. 19, 2012, at Humility House in Austintown.
She was born on March 12, 1926, in Fayetteville, Pa., a daughter of the late John S. and Emma E. Martin Chew.
Mrs. Buday had worked as a buyer for the former McKelvey's Department Store for more than 20 years before her retirement in 1970.

Following her retirement, she and her husband, Matthew, owned and operated Bufays Restaurant on Mahoning Avenue before his passing on April 22, 1982.
Faye was a longtime member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Vienna, where she had been active in the Women's Altar and Rosary Guild and had taken many of the bus trips over the years.
She also enjoyed ceramics, cross-stitching and needlepoint and had made several Annie dolls for friends and family.
She leaves behind her four beloved children, Margaret E. Whinnie of Ebensburg, Pa., Matthew J. Buday Jr. of Youngstown, Jo-Ann (Steve) Cunning of Doylestown, Pa., and Carol Jean (Brian) Barnes of Satellite Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Steve Jr., Juli-Ann, Gabriel and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Ella and Thomas James; her sisters, Joanne Mayberry and Margie Stanley, both of New Middletown; two brothers-in-law, Robert Buday of Youngstown and John (Rosalie) Buday of Boardman; three sisters-in-law, Doris Niles of Austintown, Marie (Raymond) Gedra of Youngstown and Loretta Wiles of University Heights; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Matthew Buday; brothers, John S. Chew Jr., who was killed in the Fiji Islands during World War II, and an infant, Harry D. Chew; her son-in-law, Paul Whinnie; five brothers-in-law, Frank and Edwin Buday, Harry Wiles, Jack Niles and Will Mayberry; her sister-in-law, Norene Buday; and two nieces.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield, OH 44403, 330-448-6969.
Closing prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle (St. Vincent de Paul Church) in Vienna, with the Rev. Frank Zanni as pastor.
Burial will follow next to her husband at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
