HOUSTON, Texas - Effar Butler III, 56, formerly of Warren, died at 4:20 p.m. Aug. 1, 2012, at his home following a short illness.
He was born June 24, 1956, in Opelika, Ala., the son of Effar II and Mary Nell Haynes Butler.
Effar was a self-employed truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Houston; daughters, Tiffany Morris, Tamula Butler and Takis Butler, all of Warren; a son, Effar IV of Warren; a sister, Patricia ''Ann'' Johnson; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
There will be private memorial, and the family will receive friends and family on Thursday at the home of his daughter, Tiffany, 2828 Palmyra Road.
Walker Funeral Home in Crosby, Texas, handled the cremation.
