YOUNGSTOWN -- An 8-year-old child sleeping in his bed in an eastside housing project was killed early Monday when he was struck in the head by a stray bullet.
Police found at least a dozen shell casings in the parking lot off Maplewood Court in the Rockford Village Housing Projects, according to Tribune Chronicle news partner Channel 33.
The shooting happened about 1 a.m. near where three men were shot outside in the same complex on Aug. 7.
