James was united into marriage with Jean C. Noss on Dec. 5, 1953, and from this union they had three daughters, Sharon, Judith and Nancy.

Jim and Jean moved to Newton Falls in October 1959 while he continued to work as Meat Manager in numerous Trumbull and Mahoning County A&P Stores until their closing in 1979. He then worked for R&B Market in Cortland and retired from IGA Stores in 1992.

James was a member of Newton Falls United Methodist Church, and in his spare time he enjoyed going on bus trips and to McDonald's in the morning, but above all else he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Sharon K. Dennis, who passed away on Aug. 24, 2004; infant sister, Grace; and infant brothers, William and John.

Friends may call 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Borowski Memorial Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Newton Falls United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gordon Ferguson officiating.

James will be laid to rest in Newton Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in James' name to the Newton Falls United Methodist Church.
