Mr. and Mrs. James and Patricia Butler celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 11, 2012, with a dinner at Roby Lee's Restaurant in Newton Falls, attended by family and friends.
James W. Butler and Patricia A. Casey were married Aug. 11, 1962, at Muskingham College Chapel in New Concord.
Mrs. Butler taught high school for 34 years, serving at Niles McKinley High School and Newton Falls High School. She was the sponsor of the class of '63 at Niles McKinley.

Mr. Butler is retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 396.
The couple have two daughters, Charlotte L. Cervone of Girard and Susan E. Rossi of Warren; two sons, James W. Jr. (Michelle) Butler of Lake Milton and Todd J. (Sunshine) Butler of Berlin Center; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A son, Robert James Butler, is deceased.
Since retirement, the couple have enjoyed their time in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., where they served as activity directors for their condo complex.
