WARREN - Ted Barrett, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1928, in Sebring, the son of the late Emmett Leroy Barrett and the late Marie McBride Barrett.
He married the love of his life, Lois, on Aug. 5, 1951.

He was a graduate of Sebring High School and Muskingum College, where he received a bachelor of science degree. He worked as a purchasing agent at American Welding.
Ted was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was active in the church, where he served as an elder, Sunday school teacher and treasurer for 35 years. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and going to all his grandchildren's sporting events. He was an avid reader, especially of history.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Barrett of Warren; two sons, Jeffrey (Cindee) Barrett of Monroe, Maine, and Craig (Pamela) Barrett of Girard; three grandsons, Craig Alan, Ryan Matthew and Patrick Michael Barrett; a granddaughter, Breanne Barrett; and two great-granddaughters, Macy and Liveah Barrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jody Lynn Barrett; a son, Ted Emmett Barrett; and a sister, Betty Barrett.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, material contributions be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church in his memory.
