CORTLAND - Donald C. "Donnie" Hall, 78, died at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at Cortland Health Care Center.
He was born Sept. 7, 1933, in Warren, the son of the late Parmley E. Hall Sr. and Olive M. Spafford Hall. He had been a lifetime Fowler-Cortland area resident.
Donnie was a 1951 graduate of Fowler High School. He retired in 1996 from Ainsley Oil Co. in Cortland, where he worked for 43 years in furnace maintenance and repair. He was well-known in the area as the Trumbull County furnace man.

Donnie was a member of Cortland Christian Church. He was a member of Cortland Masonic Lodge No. 529, a 32nd degree Mason for 39 years in the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown, a member of Cortland Lions Club, Bazetta Optimist Club and a charter member of the Cortland Moose Lodge 1012.
For years Donnie enjoyed volunteering as a track crew member at Sharon Motor Speedway and enjoyed bowling and had bowled on area leagues. He loved spending time with his family and friends and loved his dog and companion, Tucker.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Joyce E. Kuhns Hall, whom he married June 1, 1963; one son, Jeff D. (Liska) Hall of Grove City, Ohio; one daughter, Jennifer D. (fiance, Rick Cosmar) Hall of Coshocton; one grandson, Connor Hall and two sisters, Kay "Carol" Caesar of Cincinnati and Mary Jo (Robert) Johnson of Cortland.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Parmley "Bud" Hall Jr. and Warren "Butch" Hall; four sisters, Marcella Davis, Lora Griffin, Margie Bower and Sara Linsley; four brothers-in-law, Ralph Griffin, Paul Linsley, Donald Bower and Clarence "Bill" Caesar; a sister-in-law, Dorothy and a niece, Julie Johnson Gardner.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cortland Christian Church, where the funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Donald Barnes officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at Cortland Christian Church.
