Sun. 3:53pm: Union wins grant for shale jobs

BOARDMAN - Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 396 has won a competitive grant process to receive significant job development funds related to anticipated job opportunities in the Utica and Marcellus shale plays, according to a news release.

The official announcement will be 9 a.m. Monday at the local's weld shop, 493 Bev Road, Boardman.

Scheduled to attend are U.S. Reps. Timothy J. Ryan, D-Niles and Bill Johnson, R-Marietta, and other elected officials from the Mahoning Valley.

Local 396 represents pipe tradespeople in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties.
