WARREN - Leonard DeSantis, 92, died at 1:26 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Gillette Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 11, 1919, the son of Nick DeSantis and Emma Viola DeSantis.
Leonard retired from Copperweld Steel Corp. in the 35-inch mill as assistant roller after 31 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling, especially to Las Vegas.

He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Yankees, the Steelers and Notre Dame.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn DeSantis, whom he married Jan. 31, 1970; children, Anthony ''Tony'' (Rose) DeSantis of Tampa, Fla., Stephen (Jody) DeSantis of Warren and Leonard DeSantis Jr. of Warren; a stepson, Steven Spangle of Reading, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Pamela (Austin) Padgett of Reading; 17 grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest ''Ernie'' DeSantis of Warren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Anthony, Fred, Henry, John D. Sr., Joseph and Albert ''Cooch'' DeSantis; and two sisters, Eleanor DeSantis and Mary Mayo.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
