LAKELAND, Fla. - Melvin E. Bacon, 82, formerly of Warren, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012.
Melvin was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Cortland.
He had been a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Althea Bacon of Lakeland; a son, Larry Lee Bacon of Sanford, N.C.; a daughter, Robin L. Maupin of Collegedale, Tenn.; a brother, Richard Bacon of Vienna; four sisters, Billie Huffman of Lakeland, Shirley Hineman of Portland, Ore., Sally Lewis of Williamsburg, N.Y., and Dianna Gatti of Youngstown; seven grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Bacon; and a brother.
Services were handled by Lanier Funeral Home in Lakeland.
