WARREN - Helen M. Scott, 99, passed away Tuesday evening at her home.
Helen was born Oct. 6, 1912, in Youngstown, a daughter of Louis and Anelia Mitus DeBald.
She was a 1929 graduate of South High School and a lifelong member of St. Patrick Church.

Helen had several short stories and poems published. She also was a accomplished artist and musician, playing violin for the Youngstown Symphony.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Patrick C. Scott, whom she married May 14, 1938; children, Lt. Col. Ret. David G. (Marie) Scott of Lawton, Okla., Barbara (Edward) Salaman of Howland, Patricia (William) Schreiner of Ashburn, Va., Richard (Nora) Scott of Toledo and Teresa (John) Carano of Dublin; a sister, Ann Dean of Poland; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Scott Elson; two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson and Victoria Holmes; and three brothers, Henry, John and George DeBald.
Prayers will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, OH 44507. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
