Glenn Rudesill 1924-2012

WARREN - Glenn Rudesill, 88, passed away Monday morning, Aug. 6, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Glenn was born June 23, 1924, the son of Carl and Isabel Maurer Rudesill.

He graduated from Champion High School, class of 1942.

He was an employee of Copperweld Steel for 38 years. He retired in October 1980 as a general foreman in the melt shop as supervisor of inventory central.

Glenn served in the U.S. Navy three years during World War II, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.

He was a graduate of International Correspondence School in Environmental Systems and also received certificates in management and material control from Lincoln School in Cleveland.

Glenn was a member of First Assembly of God Church for more than 50 years, serving 22 years on the deacon board. After his retirement, he and his wife, Catherine, served as the church's visitation ministers for six years.

Glenn married Catherine Black of Mansfield, Ark., in April 1946, and they shared 53 years before her death in March of 1999.

He is survived by three children, James (Phyllis) Rudesill of Thompson, Joyce (Dennis) Webb of Champion and John (Della) Rudesill of Warner Robbins, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, James Jr. (Roz) Rudesill of Williamsburg, Va., Jarrod (Traci) Rudesill of Cleveland, Michael Rudesill of Mentor, Tina (Dominick) Rudesill-Cox of Madison, Jason Webb of Pensacola, Fla., Rebecca (Ben) Webb-Woodyard of Warren, Megan (Jon) Webb-Kelly of Lancaster, Pa., Jeremy (Michelle) Rudesill of Niles, Joshua (Tanya) Rudesill of Warren, and Christopher (Angie) Rudesill of Warren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, with a funeral service at 4 p.m. at Warren First Assembly of God, 2640 Parkman Road.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the church in his memory.

Arrangements have be entrusted to Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road, Warren, Ohio.
