David Alan Strange 1957-2012

WARREN - David Alan Strange, 54, died at 6:53 p.m. Aug. 7, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center of pneumonia.

He was born Oct. 28, 1957, in Warren, the son of the late Richard F. and Gladys Ann Berlin Strange.

Dave was a 1976 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School and was employed as a stocker at Sam's Club / Walmart for 21 years. He was so proud of his 20-year plaque that was on the "Wall of 'Shame'" at Sam's Club. Dave had a great sense of humor.

David enjoyed many things. He loved to play golf and bowl and was an avid sports fan. He also liked to watch professional wrestling.

He was a member and past elder of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Warren.

Survivors include his wife, who cherished him and will miss him, the former Delma Ruth Lawrence, whom he married on May 16, 1981; and his daughter, Faith Marie (Adam) Swegen of Warren. He was known as Papa and Pa to his two grandchildren, whom he loved spending time with and spoiled, Abbagail Strange and Ethen-Alan Crist. David is also survived by his siblings, Kathie (Alan) Sadar of Painesville, Richard (Shawn) Strange of Chillicothe, Doreen (Patrick) Ambrose of Kissimmee, Fla., and Jeffrey Strange of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Revs. Dr. David R. Black and James Baer will celebrate David's life. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service. Following services, it was David's wish to be cremated.
