How can ACLU change way of life?

August 5, 2012
Tribune Chronicle | TribToday.com

DEAR EDITOR:

On the news this week there was a story about the city of Steubenville. They decided to create a new logo for their town, Steubenville, "where you always have a home."

It showed a tall building with a cross on the top of it representing the Franciscan University Chapel, which has been part of the community for 70 years. The ACLU told them to change the logo because it would offend other religions.

I thought this country had freedom of religion? Since when do we take orders from the ACLU? Let's see, we cannot say a prayer in our schools, cannot say a prayer at our graduation ceremonies, told to take God off our currency, the Ten Commandments out of our courthouses, cannot have Christmas trees in our schools to decorate, people are not allowed to say Merry Christmas when shoppers come into the stores, all this because we might offend someone?

I want to know why our politicians are allowing this group to change our way of life over these past several years. I pay the salaries of our politicians, the ACLU doesn't, and why are citizens of the United States of America taking orders from the ACLU?
