Legion to give away supplies

SCHOOL SUPPLY GIVEAWAY SET: The St. Nicholas Orthodox Outreach in cooperation with Newton Falls American Legion will hold a free school supply giveaway while supplies last from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the legion, 2025 E. River Road, Newton Falls. Children must be present.

AUTHOR TO SIGN BOOKS: Dr. Jerome A. Jones, author of ''Relationship: Take Your Mask Off,'' will hold a book signing from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Mocha House, 467 High St. N.E., Warren. Jones is the founder of ''Issachar Solutions,'' a consulting form that addresses the needs of churches and small businesses in the areas of training, marketing and vision management.

VIETNAM MOVING WALL COMES TO AREA: Hillcrest Memorial Park and the War on Terror Foundation will present the Vietnam Moving Wall and Parade from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the John Flynn Funeral Home, 2630 E. State St. The parade will commence at 10 a.m. and follow East State Street from the Shenango Valley Mall to the wall. All veterans are invited to attend.

KIDS KUPBOARD OFFERED AT CHURCH: Blessed Sacrament Parish's Relay for Life team will host Kid's Kupboard, a re-sale event featuring children's items only from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the parish's Covelli Gymnasium, 3020 Reeves Road N.E., Warren. NATURE PROGRAM: The Trumbull Metroparks will hold ''Who Lives in a Tree?" from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the new Thomas A. Swift Metroparks, 870 Benedict Leavittsburg Road. The program will be on basic forestry. The educational program is part of the ''Growing Up Wild'' series, with children taking part in hands-on learning activities. The program is for ages 5 to 15. RUMMAGE SALE SET: St. William Parish, 5431 Mahoning Ave, Champion, is hosting its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. ''Bag Day'' is 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Lunch will be available.

FAMILY GARDEN DAY: Fellows Riverside Gardens in Youngstown will hold a Family Garden Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Children and grown-ups are invited.

NATURE SESSION PLANNED: A Gregg's Gardens information session will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Mocha House banquet room for anyone interested helping turn Warren's vacant lots into wildflower and native plant gardens. The meeting is open to the public and will be followed by an option tour of the first 20 gardens.
