NILES - Dorothy Smith Mackins, 72, died at 9:35 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Dorothy was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Rolling Fork, Miss., the daughter of Willie and Hattie Kinnard.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Warren and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Mackins; a son, Avery Lamont Smith of New York City; a daughter, Darrell Hattie Smith of Columbus; a brother, Eddie Williams of Warren; sisters, Barbara Williams of Warren, Evelyn Davis of New York City, Josephine Williams of Michigan and Marilyn Williams of Warren; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren, where family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. A repass will follow at the home of Barbara Williams, 1216 Highland Ave., Warren.
