NILES - Nancy I. Stauffer, 81, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at her residence in the presence of her loving family.
She was born Feb. 24, 1931, in Niles, the daughter of John L. and Goldie Gifford Mahoney.
A lifelong area resident, Nancy was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a 1949 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.

In the real estate business for more than 58 years, Nancy was broker / owner of Stauffer Realty, first woman president of the Warren Area Board of Realtors, 1976 Realtor / Broker of the Year, a partner in BRB Homes Inc. and BKB Development Co.
She was a founding member of Birthright of Trumbull County, and past president of the Niles Area Chamber of Commerce (second woman to be elected president). Nancy received the Carmen DeChristofaro award for civic achievements. She sponsored the Stauffer Realty Slo-Pitch Softball team along with numerous other local athletic teams. She was also an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Nancy is survived by her husband, C. Don Stauffer, whom she married on Jan. 31, 1953; her sons, Ronald D. (Linda) Stauffer of Vienna and Terry J. (Brenda) Stauffer of Niles; a daughter, Cindy (Daniel) Douglas of Cortland; a sister, Jessie Smith of Sharon, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2205 Tibbetts Wick Road, Liberty, with calling hours from 10 a.m. until time of service. Bishop Robert Palmer will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
The family requests that material contributions be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund or Hospice of the Valley.
