Raymond L. Gorby 1965-2012

WARREN - Raymond L. "Gorbachoff" Gorby, 46, passed away at 12:16 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center Emergency Room following a vehicle accident.

Raymond was born Dec. 2, 1965, in Warren, the son of Raymond G. Gorby and Donna Holmes.

Raymond was a 1984 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. He was a carpenter for Local 171 and for DSV Builders for the last 15 years. Previously he was the owner and operator of Ray Gorby's Carpet.

He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, ITAM 30 and AMVETS 101. Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Indians.

He is survived by his wife, Paula J. Yannacey Gorby, whom he married Oct. 18, 1997; children, Mattilyn and Emma Gorby at home, Alexa (fiance Nick Linger) Gorby of Warren and Taylor (Niki Hightower) Gorby of Niles; his father, Raymond and stepmother Laura Gorby of Niles; his mother, Donna Gorby of Niles; his brothers, Mark Gorby of Niles and Michael (Erica) Gorby of Ladson, S.C.; his sisters, Kim (Barry) Bradford of Champion and Lori (Howard Williams) Cryer of Niles; his mother-in-law, Nancy Yannacey of Howland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Deceased is his father-in-law, Paul ''Duke'' Yannacey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel.

Burial will be in Howland Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the college education fund for his daughters at any Cortland Bank.
