The summer offseason is coming to a close and we are all anxious for two-a-days to approach, which starts this Monday.
The varsity team is a little smaller in numbers than normal, but it is loaded with very committed and hard working players. Two-a-days are loaded with competition, being that every position is still up for grabs.
The freshman team is starting to come together as well. The new offense and defense takes them a little longer, but they have all bought in and are working hard to learn them both.
The freshman have a lot of energy and eagerness to learn.
Another bright spot of the summer was the seventh- and eighth-grade programs starting conditioning - truly the future of Niles football. They showed up ready to work. This young group is fun to watch as they have to learn the new offensive and defensive schemes.
All involved in Niles football are excited and hoping to see everyone at the sausage fry Friday, Aug. 10.
