The Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce's Niles Area Council presented the ''William Clayman Community Pride Award'' to Niles Sparkle Market last week.
Honored this year was Peter J. Gelsomino, founder of Niles Sparkle Market, which has been a mainstay in Niles for 30 years. Gelsomino is a past president and board member of Niles Community Services, past president and member of Niles Kiwanis, past board member of the United Way of Trumbull County and past board member of National City Bank.
The award honors businesses or organizations in Niles that exemplify ethical, moral and professional standards in their workplace or organization and have visibly contributed to the local economy or quality of life.
