HAMILTON - The Boardman 12-year-old all-star team came back after Saturday's loss to Mount Vernon in the Little League state tournament to soundly beat Washington Court House, 20-1, in a four-inning mercy rule. Jarod Wilson's two-run home run started off Boardman with a home run to lead the team to a 5-0 lead in the first inning. Noah Falleti homered in the second and fourth innings. Luciano Cardillo, Michael Melewski, Dom Stilliana, Dominic Pecchia and Evan Knaus all hit homers in the win. Boardman next plays tonight at 7 p.m. against Clyde.
Diamond 9's eliminated from Colt competiton: STRUTHERS - The Diamond 9's beat Hagerstown 5-3 Sunday in a 16U Colt regional game, but lost to the Johnstown Breakers later in the day as they were eliminated. The Johnstown Breakers play the Cleveland Hurricanes in today's final beginning at noon at Cene Park. If Johnstown wins, both teams play again to determine a champion.
