McDONALD - William D. Sperati, 61, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at his residence.
Bill was born July 10, 1951, in Salem, the son of Rocky B. and Patricia Jean Fowler Sperati.
Bill worked at General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in 2000. He then worked for Canfield school system as a teacher and substitute.

He was a football coach for McDonald Midgets for 17 years, the McDonald school system for several years and then for Canfield school system for five years. He was also a football official for several years.
Besides his parents of Girard, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife, the former Jennifer Hamilton, whom he married March 18, 1989; two sons, Joseph D. (Suzanne) Sperati of McDonald and William C. Sperati; and two stepdaughters, Kristen (Greg) Betts of Hilliard and Jodi (Jeff) Cintron of McDonald.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Paige, Julian and Hannah Sperati of McDonald, Lucas Sperati of Columbus, Megan Betts of Columbus, Jacob (Jillie) Betts of Las Vegas and Tyler and Alex Cintron of McDonald. He also leaves two brothers, Rocco (Leslie) Sperati of Girard and Michael Sperati of Youngstown; and a sister, Gwen (Carl) Arthur of Warren.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from noon until the time of service and also from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
The family requests any material contributions be made to the American Red Cross or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
