SHARON, Pa. - Robert A. ''Bob'' Haines, 78, of Elm Ave., died at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1933 in Sharon, Pa., the son of Robert and Mary Weigand Haines.
He was employed at Sharon Tube, where he worked as craneman.

Mr. Haines was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.
Mr. Haines served with the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Thomas; three daughters, Gertrude M. Megyesi of Albany N.Y., Beverly J. D'Urso of Reynolds and Regina M. Matzel of Howard; three sons, Robert W. Haines Phoenix, Walter A. Haines of Mercer and David C. Haines of Hermitage, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother Fred Haines of Sharpsville, Pa.; and a sister, Dolores E. Hornak of Hermitage.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and a sister.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., Sharon.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:3 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Church.
Interment will be at St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage, with full military honors.
