WARREN - Stanley Wallace Owens Sr., 73, of 1507 Homewood Ave. S.E., died at 6:35 a.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 2, 1939, in Niles, the son of Walter and Pearl Muriels Owens.
Mr. Owens was retired from the paint department at the General Motors Corp. plant in Lordstown.

He was a member of Valley Baptist Church.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Wiggins Owens of Warren; two sons, James Edward Owens Sr. of Warren and Stanley Wallace Owens Jr. of Lancaster; a daughter, Cheryl Denise Owens of Columbus; two brothers, Richard Owens of Pittsburgh and Robert Pinckney of Warren; three sisters, June Gamble and Beverly Williams, both of Warren, and Phyllis Bolling of Farrell, Pa.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Valley Baptist Church, with calling hours one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 1507 Homewood Ave. S.E., the home of his wife.
Services were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
