Fri 6:45pm: Missing boy identified

BROOKFIELD -- The name of the boy missing in wooded area is Mark Goodrich, 12, of Sharon, Pa.

The boy's father said he has been missing since yesterday.

Police Chief Daniel Faustino said at about 6 p.m. that the family called police about 1 p.m. today. Police and search dogs are combing a heavily forested area off of U.S. Route 62 by the state line. A dive team is searching the Shenango River.

A Stat MedEvac medical helicopter has joined the search.

A large crowd of people is camped out at an abandoned gas station watching the search.

Differing stories are circulating as to how the boy came to be missing, Faustino said what happened has yet to be determined.
