NEWTON FALLS - LaVelma E. James, 87, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at her residence.
She was born March 23, 1925, in Champion, the daughter of Gerald and Marie Post Moyer.
LaVelma was employed as a teller by Union Savings and Trust and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; four sons, John MacNaughton of Argricola, Miss., James MacNaughton of Stow, Arthur R. James of Foley, Ala., and Thomas P. James of Stow; a daughter, Donna M. James Ball of Newton Falls; and two brothers, William Moyer of Champion and Gerald Moyer of Houston.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and a grandson, David McRae.
A service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Newton Falls United Methodist Church, where the family will meet with friends 30 minutes prior to services. A fellowship will follow services at the church.
