GIRARD - The annual Girard Mount Carmel Festival will kick off Thursday and continue through Monday at the Italian Fraternal Home Club grounds, 33 W. Wilson Ave.
The event will include food, games, nightly entertainment and a fireworks display.
The entertainment schedule includes the Pete Shelby Band at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Frank Gallo Band from 8 to 11 p.m. Thursday, Dominic Tucco and the Brotherhood from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday, DJ Steve from 5 to 7 p.m. and The Rage from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Girard Community Band from 5 to 7 p.m. and Cleveland Fats from 8 to 11 p.m. Sunday and Girard Swingtime Band from 5 to 7 p.m. and St. Margarets Blue Coat Band from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Monday.
The parade will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with participants marching from the IFH grounds to U.S. Route 422 to St. Rose Church, where there will be a Mass at 11 a.m. Following the Mass, there will be a ceremony at 1 p.m. at Girard City Cemetery.
Fireworks by Zambeilli will conclude the festival at 11 p.m. at the Girard-McDonald viaduct.
