NEWTON FALLS - Kathy Cogley, 39, and her son, Everett Greathouse, 15, died Friday, July 6, 2012, in Newton Falls.
Kathy was born Jan. 23, 1973, in Warren, the daughter of Gene and Janet Huffman Greathouse.
She graduated from Southeast High School in 1992 and was employed as an assembly worker for General Motors.
She attended First Baptist Church in Newton Falls and her greatest joy in life was her children and being a mom.
She was married to Rikki W. Cogley Sr.
Everett was born April 9, 1997. He was to be a freshman at Newton Falls High School this fall.
Everett attended the church and enjoyed helping people in the community by mowing grass and shoveling snow.
Kathy is survived by her parents, Gene and Janet Greathouse; and children, Anna Workman, Anthony Workman and Rikki William Cogley Jr. She also is survived by her sisters, Tracy J. Delphia of Salem, Karie J. Greathouse-Shaffer of Charlotte, N.C., and Aletha J. Buck of Indian Trail, N.C.
Everett leaves his sister, Anna Workman; and brothers, Anthony Workman and Rikki Cogley Jr. He also leaves his grandparents, Gene and Janet Greathouse; and aunts, Tracy, Karie and Aletha.
Combined memorial services for Kathy and Everett will be held at 11 a.m. today at Newton Falls Baptist Church, 2640 South Canal St., Newton Falls.
The Greathouse family has asked that contributions be made to the Greathouse Memorial Fund at any Huntington Bank.
Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown is assisting the family with arrangements.
