CORTLAND - Mabel G. Martin, 94, of Cortland, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Lake Vista Nursing Home.
She was born May 4, 1918, in Washington, Pa., the daughter of the late Ira and Clara Gardner DeWitt.
Mabel was a graduate of Trinity High School in Washington, Pa.

Mrs. Martin was employed as a clerk at the Bristolville Hardware.
She was a member of the Bristolville Church of the Brethren and a member of the Eastern Star.
Her greatest feat was being a homemaker to her loving family. Mabel is survived by her children, Delma Lee (Frank) Sutliff of Bristolville, G. Vernon (Marlene) Martin of Warren, Larry (Linda) Martin of Youngstown, Kathy (Robert) Pinti of Warren and Kenneth (Debbie) Martin of Columbiana; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar P. E. Martin, on April 25, 1999 - they were united in marriage on Sept. 1, 1937; her children, Marilyn Kay Martin, Richard Evan Martin and Evelyn Sprague; and her siblings, Bess Garcia, Ida DeWitt, Edith DeWitt, Minnie Jones, Alice Voorhes, Lawrence DeWitt, Howard DeWitt, Everett DeWitt and Stacey DeWitt.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bristolville Church of the Brethren, where Pastor Frederick Keener will celebrate Mabel's life.
Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 N. Park Ave., Warren, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Mrs. Martin will be laid to rest next to her husband in Sager Memorial Park, Bristolville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to Bristolville Church of the Brethren, 6400 Thompson Clark Road N.W., Bristolville, OH 44402, in her memory.
