The event will include free swimming, a Chinese auction with gift certificates from area merchants, miscellaneous baskets and food. Money raised goes back into the pool for improvements.

COMMUNITY DAY SET: The second annual free Community Day hosted by Danridge's Burgundi Manor, 31 Maranatha Court, Youngstown, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. There will be food, entertainment, a petting zoo, a bounce-around and a health fair.

BOOK TO BENEFIT AUTISM: Mikeyfied Productions for Adult Autism Care is a children's book production company that produces children's and life enhancement literature. The nonprofit was started by Mauro and Beverly DiVieste, who have a nonverbal autistic son named Michael.

The DiViestes said that although mainstreaming children into regular school settings has brought more hope to those families with autistic children, Mikeyfied Productions will help build housing and provide care for autistic adults who are not mainstreamed. A comedy night fundraiser was recently held at the Elks Lodge.

The DiViestes published a book in late 2011. For information, visit mikeyfiedproductions.com

STAPLES FOR STUDENTS EFFORT: Do Something and Staples are teaming for the Staples for Students national school supply drive for children in need. To kick-start the campaign, Staples will donate $125,000 worth of school supplies to the program this year, and offer other incentives.
