YOUNGSTOWN - Wendell Michael Panak, 78, of Youngstown, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 9, 1933, in Williamsfield, the son of Stephen and Mary Kitko Panak.
Wendell served in the U.S. Army and had been employed at Copperweld Steel.

Survivors include his companion, Peter Crowe; a daughter, Leslie Sams of Warren; two sons, Richard of Philadelphia and James of Mercer, Pa.; seven sisters, Agnes Slywczak, Irene Sawayda, Joan Sawayda, Helen Flannery, Nancy Kwallek, Rosalie Weischedel and Patricia Horning; two brothers, Frank and Philip; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. July 14 at Cross Point Bible Fellowship in Vienna.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home.
